COMMUNITY CONNECTOR

Justiz assists local Aboriginal People through primary supports or referral pathways to gather relevant evidence base and connection to appropriate GP channels to apply for a NDIS plan to support them with their disability and capacity building.

ABORIGINAL MENTORING

We provide mentoring that is individualised support for Aboriginal children, young people and adults who are struggling emotionally with day to day, relationships, life choices and activities. Our Mentor assists in creating opportunities for Aboriginal participants to re-engage back into local Aboriginal community, their family and social groups. We support re-establishing cultural connections and allow further exposure/participation in a range of cultural/generic activities to improve participants emotional well-being.

We also facilitate One-on-One or Group Healing art sessions that generate discussions and provide resources for struggling, isolated and traumatised Aboriginal Children, Young People and Adults. This allows them to begin their healing journey through the medium of art, as well as to identify and regulate their emotions though colour therapy.

CUTURAL CAMPS

Justiz is in the process of making arrangements to take Aboriginal participants back on country. The aim of Cultural Camps is to engage with local elders that will talk about traditional ways in accordance with the kinship model and provide discussion around the part Aboriginal people play around their inherited obligations to make country and people work and heal.

Aboriginal Elders will also do demonstrations on country. Local leaders and community will perform dances and tell traditional stories. Most participants have somewhere along the way lost contact with their country and people and are on their journey to reconnect with their people, Aboriginal Lore and cultural protocols.
